Philosophy

I believe birth is intended to take place in a comfortable setting, preferably at home, with no interventions. I believe the mom should be informed with techniques for relaxation, use hydrotherapy, and go about her normal routine until her body requires more attention of her.

I believe birth is meant to empower the woman with strength and the belief that she can accomplish anything and to bond her with her baby as she begins to nurse it shortly after birth. I believe the baby should never be taken away from its mother and any proceedure required for the baby can be accomplished in the same room.

Training, Education & Experience

I am certified with CAPPA (Childbirth and Postpartum Professional Association) as a childbirth educator. In addition, I also work as a doula. I have attended over 75 births in the last 6 years, most of those were homebirths.

About My Classes

My childbirth classes will equip you with knowledge as well as technique.

You will learn the risks associated with medical interventions and medications that can create the "waterfall effect". Furthermore, not only will you will learn the importance of true informed consent, you will lean how to achieve it using seven informed consent questions.

The classes will also address the benefits of relaxation, changing positions, walking, and hydrotherapy. You will learn a variety of positions for pushing.

My classes will prepare you so that when the time comes you will be confident, relaxed and in control of your birth.
