North Carolina Homebirth.com was created to inform the public about the ins and outs of birthing at home. We believe that home is the premier place to give birth for the majority of women. Our goal is to provide current information specific to North Carolina.
We are not associated with any organization. This website was created and is maintained by a homebirthing husband and wife.
Because the majority of research on the safety of homebirth is based on births with a midwife, our site supports this type of birth. However, we feel that parents should have the final say as to how and with whom their baby is brought into the world.
We believe that every woman should have a midwife that is tailored to her needs. We are proud that our state is filled with midwives of all kinds, which makes it a wonderful place to give birth! North Carolinians have the pleasure of choosing a midwife from a variety of backgrounds, beliefs, and educations. We support all midwives and we do not discriminate between them. We encourage women to seek a midwife that best suits her needs, personality, and religious beliefs.
We support homebirth midwives and doulas and organizations that promote natural birth, breastfeeding, attachment parenting and homebirth.
We strive to protect the unlicensed midwives in our state and do not disclose any information to the public about any particular midwife. We do however accept information from women seeking a midwife, which we make available to the midwives.
We encourage our midwifery community to ban together for without them we have fewer choices and with support from each other they are better to stand against the powers that want to see them done away with. We will gladly accept suggestions as to how we can better help the midwifery community.
